SOTOL IS INDIGENOUS TO THE ARID DESERTS AND ROCKY SLOPES OF CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO. TAKING APPROXIMATELY 15 YEARS TO MATURE, CASA LOTOS HARVESTS EACH PLANT WITH CARE AND RESPECT, LEAVING ITS ROOT SYSTEM INTACT TO REGROW AND YIELD MULTIPLE HARVESTS. THE RESULT IS A FRESH, SMOOTH SPIRIT PERFECT FOR SIPPING AND CRAFT COCKTAILS.

CASA LOTOS SOTOL IS ARTISINALLY CRAFTED BY THE RUELAS FAMILY, FOURTH-GENERATION MASTER DISTILLERS NATIVE TO ALDAMA, CHIHUAHUA. DURING PROHIBITION, SOTOL EMERGED AS THE MOST POPULAR MEXICAN “BORDER” SPIRIT AND THE RUELAS, ITS LARGEST PRODUCER. VINCENTE RUELAS, THE FAMILY’S PATRIARCH AND GRANDFATHER, WAS THE REGION’S FIRST DISTILLER TO LEGALLY OBTAIN A PERMIT TO PRODUCE SOTOL IN THE 1930'S.
